Nhóm nghiên cứu tại Cục Khảo sát Địa chất Mỹ (USGS) xác định những đường rãnh sẫm màu trên sao Hỏa chỉ đơn thuần là dấu hiệu của cát chảy hoặc bụi trong bài báo công bố trên tạp chí Nature Geoscience hôm 20/11.
Trước đó, Cơ quan Hàng không Vũ trụ Mỹ (NASA) thông báo họ có “bằng chứng rõ nhất” cho thấy nước lỏng chảy trên bề mặt sao Hỏa vào năm 2015. Đó là những đường rãnh sẫm màu chứa muối kết hợp với nước lỏng, xuất hiện theo mùa trên hành tinh đỏ, theo Science Alert.
“Hiểu biết mới này hỗ trợ các bằng chứng khác cho thấy khí hậu sao Hỏa ngày nay rất khô”, Colin Dundas, tác giả chính của nghiên cứu, cho biết.
